The Livelihood Development Services Unit (LDSU) aims to develop and enhance the local economy especially in the grassroots communities. The unit assists micro entrepreneurs in the establishment and/or expansion of livelihood ventures that will boost economic activity, generate productivity and provide employment opportunities.
By managing its Financial Assistance Program (FAP), LDSU extends financial and technical assistance to small entrepreneurs through its various loan windows:
- Project Loans for Micro-entrepreneurs - business loan scheme for small-medium entrepreneurs
- Area-Based financial scheme -production assistance for people’s organizations and assisted community participants
- Social Credit scheme for low income disadvantaged entrepreneurs
- Transport Service Loan for tricycle drivers
All clients who qualified of the assistance are provided opportunity to attend seminars and training workshops customized to enhance their business management skills, e.g. capacity building, basic financial management training, project management training.
The training program is conducted in partnership with the University of the Philippines-Institute for Small Scale Industries (UP-ISSI).
